This is the picture of the first Sunburst Mirror that I made.
I used some of my jewelry charms to add interest.
This is my second mirror. I decided to make a small one which is now in my kitchen.
I added lots of pewter hearts in the center and all around.
This is my latest sunburst mirror. I added ying yang jewelry charms in the center. You really have to appreciate these mirrors in person since the pictures don't tell the complete story. They are very sparkly and they add lots of charm and interest to the rooms.
Wooden Dowels- Michaels (candy section, pre-cut); Lee Valley Tools (pre-cut and sanded); Home Depot (you have to cut them, sand them so it's more work)
Bamboo skewers- Home Depot- bbq section
Small mirrors- Michaels but I am looking for another source since the quality could be better
Cabochons- Michaels, Walmart
Jewelry charms- I already had them but you can buy some at places like Michaels or Walmart
Convex Mirror (for the center)- Walmart (auto section)
Metallic Silver Paint- Spray can but I am looking at alternatives since this stuff is toxic plus I cannot spray in our cold winter
5- minute Epoxy (to glue the cabochons to the mirror and also for extra glue at the back of the small mirrors)- Lee Valley Tools
hot glue gun
